About ME

Background
I have lived in San Diego all my life. Actually I am a third generation San Diegan. I grew up in Mission Beach and went to college at UCSB where I studied Biology. Teaching is in my blood: I love it. I started teaching in 1991 as a middle school science teacher and I spent the first 10 years of my career as a middle school teacher. High school is where I am happiest.. My family includes my husband, John, and daughter, Heather.

Class Schedule
Over my years at LJHS I have taught AP environmental science, advanced biology, biology and physics. This year, I will be teaching AP environmental science and advanced biology. Lucky me!  I did not recruit TAs last year. Anyone with an open period who is interested in being a TA come see me. TA duties include equipment maintenance, lab set up, organizational paperwork and interaction with the students (especially if you understand the content).

Other Interesting Things
Activities I enjoy include: fishing, traveling, camping, playing volleyball, and stand up paddle boarding (SUP). When I have spare time at home you will find me playing with my dog in the yard, going on a walk or hike, gardening, or reading a great book.
